Weekend in Gothenburg

We wanted an easy getaway during the dark depths of December 2021, so we headed out to Gothenburg—Sweden's second-largest city, a few hours up the coast by train. I was in full December gift-buying mode and read somewhere that G-town has Sweden's best Christmas markets, so there ya go. It was cute and snowy, real parka weather. The Gothenburg City Museum was great, we found a very cute coffee shop for a fika warm-up, and we had a spectacular first Julbord experience at Fiskekrogen (bummed I didn't get pictures of that fantastic, herring-forward meal, but I was too busy stuffing my face).

Looong exhale.

Here we are the first day we arrived in Sweden. We were  super stressed and tired, so it was a nice surprise to find Strandhuset, a lovely restaurant and bar just a short walk from our temporary apartment. Good memory.
