Welcome to Malmö

"No thinking allowed." It may sound like a dumb strategy, but ever since we founded the cult of Two Kings, we've adopted it with great success.

We are reasonable people who don't mind a little reflection, of course, but this magic phrase gives us the power to keep from overthinking. So when an opportunity came up to move clear across the ocean, we did a couple things right away: we checked a map to see where on earth Malmö is; we downloaded and immediately started bingeing the first season of The Bridge, a Nordic-noir detective series set between Malmö and Copenhagen; and we decided to keep saying "hell, we could maybe actually do this," until and unless the universe showed us otherwise.

Turns out, the universe was on our side. That's how we arrived in this lovely city of just over 350,000 (same size as St. Paul, if you're looking for a Minnesota comparison) in the summer of 2021. It has been stressful, exhausting, sometimes just plain maddening – and really wonderful too. We really miss our people back home, but we love it here. And we're more convinced than ever that when it comes to thinking, moderation is the key.

Looong exhale.

Here we are the first day we arrived in Sweden. We were  super stressed and tired, so it was a nice surprise to find Strandhuset, a lovely restaurant and bar just a short walk from our temporary apartment. Good memory.
